Happy Wednesday, animal lovers of the internet. We love seeing all of the wholesome adoption stories the internet has to offer, but there are a select few that really hit a home run with us (look at us, making sports references!). Usually, what sets apart a normal adoption story from an awwwmazing one is at least one of these things: the animal has to come from terrible circumstances, they have to win the hooman over instead of the other way around, and if it involves a senior animal of some sort.

Don't get us wrong, please go and adopt any age of animal you want. Adopting is great, no matter what. But, when you adopt an older animal, like a senior dog, you give them the best gift you could ever give: a second chance at life. Not only that, but the option to have their final moments surrounded by love. We are literally obsessed with this doggo. They are the cutest thing in the world! We've never seen a dog that looked quite like this. We also wouldn't be able to resist their sweet face if we saw them sitting all alone in a shelter. If they didn't adopt them, we would have.

We think the next dog we adopt will be a senior dog. We're just finishing the puppy phase with our current doggo, and we think we're done with that for a while. Puppies are adorable…but they are a lot of work. We're ready to adopt a senior doggo that just wants to snuggle with us all day long, and not run around and play with us for hours….and hours…and hours…
